How Are We Different?

We're a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice. DPC is a unique approach to healthcare and our patients love it. So, how is it different?

Fewer patients

Did you know that most Primary Care Providers have between 2,500-3,500 patients? We limit our practice to under 600 patients total. That means that your doctor spends more time with you when you need him. Plus, when he is not actively seeing a patient, he is able to help coordinate your care and research your treatments.

No insurance

Mayfield Direct Care does not bill any insurance plans so you won’t have a middle-man in your primary care. Decisions about your healthcare will be made by you and your doctor without the impersonal management that comes from third-party payers. Instead, patients pay a monthly membership fee which can save money and covers excellent treatment. Give it a try, and you’ll quickly see for yourself the value of this approach!

Meet the Doctor

Mark S Mayfield, M.D.

Dr. Mayfield is an experienced, Board Certified family medicine physician. After growing up in Fort Worth and Austin, he graduated with honors from Texas Christian University. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He then completed three years of residency training at Phoenix Baptist Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He has practiced in Texas for 30 years now. He and his wife and various animals are proud to call North Texas home.

Dr. Mayfield has always genuinely cared for his patients, is a great listener, and continually strives to provide the highest quality, most compassionate, and most patient-focused care possible. In his new direct primary care (DPC) practice, he is excited about spending much more time with patients, and about using technology to stay available to patients 24-7. “The current healthcare system is broken. This new model allows me to return to practicing medicine the way it used to be, with no interference from insurance companies, regulatory agencies, and without the burden of unnecessary paperwork. We will be getting back to the way I saw medicine practiced when I was growing up, but we will still, at the same time, strive to provide the latest available technology and innovations in medical care.”
